St. Dominic School is a Catholic elementary school in the Diocese of Joliet. The school doors first opened in 1966 and currently serves over 250 students through a robust, Christ-centered program for Pre-Kindergarten (4 year-olds) through 8th Grade. Through the integration of quality education and experiences in Catholic worship and living, the faculty and staff of St. Dominic School strive to address all aspects of a student's growth and development.
With the active involvemen
In the beginning of the Catholic community in Bolingbrook, Illinois, St. Dominic Parish grew into two different locations. Later in 1981, one of the locations developed into St. Francis Parish. From this unique history of Catholicism in the Bolingbrook area, St. Dominic School serves both parishes of St. Dominic and St. Francis. We are grateful for the continual support for Catholic education by Father David Lawrence (Pastor of St. Dominic), Father Herb Essig (Pastor of St. Francis), Father Roy (Parochial Vicar of St. Dominic), and Father Pat Murphy (Parochial Vicar of St. Francis).
St. Dominic School is also affiliated with the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia of Nashville, TN. Following the footsteps of St. Dominic, the sisters continue the work of evangelization of the Gospel through their teaching and service in schools. Currently, three sisters serve at St. Dominic, as a principal, a second grade teacher, and junior high teacher.
